Located in a 16 acre site in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, Sirdar are the leading producer of branded designs and yarns for hand knitting in the UK - producing a wide range of colours, textures and designs available in specialist yarn retailers. Founded in 1880 the company moved to their present location in 1890 and currently employs over 300 people.

With hand knitting currently enjoying a resurgence in popularity, partly thanks to the publicity generated by celebrity knitters including Sarah Jessica Parker, Julia Roberts, Uma Thurman and Madonna, this website redevelopment represents a golden opportunity to provide a market leading online experience to users.
