Majestic began working with Nisa Today’s in 2001 when we were asked to redevelop the company website to incorporate a range of new features including an online template website generation tool, member web-mail services and online member ordering.

Majestic have been asked to complete a wide variety of developments for Nisa Today’s since the successful completion of this first project, including an online product specification tool (Teknispex), multiple event and departmental mini-sites, an online POS generation system and the company intranet.

In 2005 Nisa Today’s contacted Majestic with the challenge of streamlining the communications between individual member stores and Nisa Todays HQ. Any new system would need to reflect the autonomy of each individual member, yet still provide a cost benefit to the group as a whole – providing members with stock management and administrative savings and Nisa Today’s with more information on which to base its buying and management decisions. The system would also need to be simple to roll-out, safe and secure to operate.

Majestic worked in conjunction with security specialists Boxing Orange to deliver the NT Net solution – a dedicated VPN (Virtual Private Network) exclusively for Nisa Today’s members. The VPN provides a secure tunnel for transmission of data from member EPoS systems to Nisa Todays central order processing and also provides members with a secure high speed connection for general Internet access. The system also gives members the opportunity to access voice over IP (VoIP) and for members with multiple store locations to setup inter-store private VPN’s.

Nisa Today’s Head of IT, David Morris, believes NT Net offers significant benefits to members in providing a safe web environment to underpin their business operations, and is confident the majority of members will take advantage of the service over the next 12 months.
